Business Administration Level 2 Apprenticeship - Case Study

Jamie-Lee is a Business Administration apprentice at Devizes Insurance Brokers (DIB) in Wiltshire; they have recently been voted Commercial Lines Broker of the Year by Westinsure - a national network of 200 independent insurance brokers. They cover all aspects of brokerage from advice and guidance to final arrangements.

Jamie-Lee came across the vacancy online “I was contacted by SWAC and had 2 interviews before my CV was passed to DIB, I was asked to attended a final interview with DIB and offered the position”

Jamie-Lee has always wanted to work in an office environment, she has always enjoyed working on computers and using programs so felt this Apprenticeship would be ideal.

Jamie-Lee is currently working towards a Business Administration Level 2 Apprenticeship delivered by Learndirect which is going really well, Jamie-Lee said “My Host has been friendly; at the start they were patient with me and helped me to learn the business”

Jamie-Lee has really benefited from doing an Apprenticeship, I have been given more roles and responsibilities. It is the best job I could have hoped for. I really feel part of the team and supported, it has given me a chance to expand my knowledge and work as part of a team”

Jamie-Lee has already agreed that once her current Apprenticeship is completed she will progress onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship in order to expand her knowledge further. 

All SWAC apprentices have a dedicated Learner Account Manager and the support Jamie-Lee has received comes highly recommended “My Learner Account Manager has always been there and been happy to help if I’ve ever felt confused or uncertain”

Jamie-Leerecommends Apprenticeships “It is definitely worth doing an Apprenticeship; if you work hard and are committed it will pay off like mine has!”

Jamie-Lee has high aspirations for the future after her Apprenticeship is complete “I would like to work my way up in the insurance industry and run my own team or have an office of my own in the future”
