Host Organisation Case Study - Lydbrook Health Centre

Lydbrook Health Centre is a family Medical Practice with approximately 5,700 patients in The Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.


Sheila Booth manages personnel at the centre so works closely with their apprentice Chelsea.


Lydbrook Health Centre and been thinking of taking on an apprentice when SWAC called. An appointment was arranged to discuss the centre’s needs and within a couple of weeks they were interviewing applicants.


The centre was attracted to the ATA model because of the development and monitoring of the apprentice.


Chelsea is working towards a Business Administration Apprenticeship and has a varied role within the centre. Chelsea works on reception and also performs administration and secretarial duties.


Sheila has seen many benefits and positive outcomes from having an apprentice “Our apprentice has shown good examples of commitment through learning and has brought eagerness, willingness and flexibility to the role, SWAC found us an exceptionally good apprentice”
