Full Description of Vacancy:
An excellent opportunity to join a supportive team in an exciting role within the busy fundraising department. The Role will be to support in all areas of fundraising administration whilst working towards a recognised qualification.
 
Key responsibilities:
 
Provide support in day to day running of office, including:
  • Undertake administrative duties to support the Fundraising Team such as filing, photocopying and printing of materials to ensure efficiency of work
  • Undertake research into key target audiences (churches, Trusts and High Net Worth Individuals) and input this data correctly on Donor Strategy (training will be available)
  • Ensure contracts with Trusts funders are completed, signed and returned as appropriate and all thank you letters completed within identified timescales
  • Call, follow up and write to key contacts as required by the Fundraising Team
  • Attend and contribute to planning sessions for Event Fundraising
  • Attend and contribute to planning sessions for general Fundraising and Marketing
  • Provide general data research to support the Fundraising Team, collating the data from the internal operation staff team and ensuring that monthly data is available
  • Attend Alabaré fundraising activities and events from time to time
  • Work with Marketing to provide data and gain reports on fundraising activity analysis
  • To support the Mission, Vision, Values and Christian ethos of Alabaré  in a responsible and positive way on all occasions
Abilities/Experience
  • Experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to communicate effectively – both in writing and verbally together with an excellent telephone manner 
  • Organisational and time management skills 
  • Happy to seek help when stuck
  • Eye for detail
  • Ability to work in a small team and be a team player
  • Confident, positive, outlook with a can-do attitude 
  • High energy initiative and motivated to succeed and learn
  • Interested in fund raising and event organising
Staff are required to be flexible in their approach and have a willingness to get involved in other issues where necessary.
 
Qualifications required:
GCSE grades A*- C (Grade 9 to 5) in English and Mathematics or equivalent
 
37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with ½ hour for lunch
 
£3.50 per hour

Important Other Information: The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
Reality Check: There will be times in the lead up to events where the office is very busy and there may be a requirement to work additional hours
