Full Description of Vacancy:
We have an opportunity for an apprentice in a very varied role within a friendly flooring company based in Bath who are looking to expand their growing business.
The successful applicant will join a positive and successful team, developing industry recognised transferable skills along with making a great start on their career journey as the training will cover all areas of the business from the installation, measuring and site surveys through to all elements within the office including sales, ordering and customer service
Purpose of the Role:

On-site Training to include:
  • Site Surveys
  • Measuring
  • Pricing.
  • Fit Amtico.
  • Carpet Fitting/General
  • Sub Floor/Sanding
  • Underfloor Heating
  • Engineered flooring/Parquet/Sanding
Office based Training to include:
  • Shop Management
  • Business management
  • Sales
  • Customer Service
  • Ordering
  • Administration
  • IT
  • Plan Drawing
  • CAD May be a possibility.
GCSE, or equivalent Grade C or above in English, Math’s and IT 
  • Positive and practical attitude to work
  • Good problem solving skills,
  • Customer focused with good people skills.
  • Good communicator
  • Physically fit enough to manage the physical aspects
  • Be willing to work longer hours if the work load dictates.
  • Desire to run their own business as this will form part of future development opportunities within the role
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Literacy and Numeracy to level 2 
  • Should have basic understanding and be familiar with Basic IT.
  • Should hold a current driving licence or be willing and able to take Driver training and successfully pass a driving test within 12 months.
  • Potential to manage a business in the future following successful apprenticeship programme

Important Other Information: Looking for a candidate with a genuine interest in this industry as the role has potential to further your career into management of the business and even ownership for the right candidate
Reality Check: The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
