Full Description of Vacancy:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Administrator to work within a large Doctors Surgery in Trowbridge. Adcroft Surgery offers a friendly, efficient and professional service to all the family. 
This position is linked to an Intermediate Business and Administration Apprenticeship and you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship on completion.
High quality services are delivered by a broad range of practice team members.

  • Main duties are to be the Scanning of all relevant documents to the patients’ notes.
  • Note summarising of patients notes, keeping to deadlines set by the CCG.
  1. Retrieve and re-file records as required, ensuring strict alphabetical order is adhered to
  2. Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are filed promptly and in the correct records, ensuring that all recent correspondence is available when patients are seen
  3. Ensure records are kept in good repair with all necessary information on the outside cover clearly visible
  • Make and serve refreshments, ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and air and tidy the waiting room in turn with other staff when appropriate.
  • Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately
  • Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager
Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
You are requested to be flexible and the employers reserve the right to alter such fixed hours as may be considered necessary to ensure the Medical Centre runs smoothly.

Qualifications required:
GCSE Grades A* - C in Maths and English or equivalent
Weekly hours 37.5
Various shifts - Monday to Friday (hours to be confirmed) with 1 hour lunch.
£3.50 per hour
The Apprenticeship framework consists of:
  • Certificate Level 2 in Business Administration
  • Technical Certificate - NVQ Level 2
  • Functional skills (if applicable)
  • ERR (Employment rights and responsibilities)
  • PLTS (Personal Learning & Thinking Skills)
The training provider for this Apprenticeship will be Lifetime who along with the South West Apprenticeship Company will support you in working towards achieving your qualification.

Additional Detail
Important Other Information: The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
