Abigail has completed a Business Administration Level 2 apprenticeship at Lye Cross Farm in Bristol with Weston College.

Abigail explained why she enjoyed her apprenticeship “I loved working within a team and everyone was so friendly! I enjoyed all aspects of my apprenticeship and feel that doing an apprenticeship has massively improved my confidence as well as allowing me to gain valuable transferrable skills that I will be able to take with me in the future.”

Doing an apprenticeship has encouraged Abigail to continue with her education “During my apprenticeship, I knew that I wanted to continue with my education and continue learning which is why I will be starting University in September I feel that my apprenticeship has provided me with so much knowledge, experience and confidence that I can take with me throughout University”

My apprenticeship taught me how to be more independent and use my initiative, while also giving me the confidence to communicate with a variety of people, something which I feel has developed massively, compared to when I first started my apprenticeship.”

Abigail was given the responsibility of welcoming and training the new apprentice before heading off to University “As I will be starting University in September, Alvis Brothers have recently employed a new apprentice and before leaving, I was helping to train her and show her what the job role entails.

Having the responsibility of helping to train the new apprentice is something I didn’t think I would have the confidence to do but have really enjoyed showing her the responsibilities involved and giving some guidance and advice!”

Abigail is keen to promote apprenticeships and SWAC to others “I would say go for it! An apprenticeship has given me the confidence to progress with my learning and SWAC were so supportive during my apprenticeship!”
