As a part of our #InspiringFutureApprentices we are exploring ‘hidden jobs’ in areas that you may not have considered and we have some great real life examples through some of our current apprentices.
Some qualifications can have an old-fashioned reputation that may put you off pursuing a role within the sector and we are here to break the mould and put the excitement into something that you may have considered ‘boring’ or not considered at all.
We are starting with Business Administration
We find that the general perception of Business Administration is sitting at a desk all day, filing and going back and forth from the printer. Although all Administration roles will include these aspects, there is always much more than that to do!

Luke is a Business Administration Apprentice at The Finance Roome, a Gloucestershire based independent mortgage services business. During his apprenticeship, he has had responsibilities such as helping and assisting with the preparation of new mortgage applications, discussing cases with lenders, solicitors, providers, clients as well as pursuing his own pipeline.
Luke is going to be completing sector specific qualifications once he has completed his Apprenticeship.
Belle is a Business Administration Apprentice at Alvis Bros – Lye Cross Farm, a large family run multi-award-winning cheese making company in the heart of the West Country. Within her role, Belle has responsibilities such as taking orders, bank statement reconciliation, daily cashing up for the busy Farm Shop as well as helping with training days such as product allergy training.
Erin is a Business Administration Apprentice at Bristol Law Centre, a small charity that strives to help people from all backgrounds access justice. Bristol Law Centre provide free information and professional legal advice in specialised areas of social welfare such as; housing law, immigration law, mental health law and welfare benefits. Within Bristol Law Centre, Erin has responsibilities within the following such as looking after case files and archiving, Marketing and Social Media manager. Housing Law administration assistant and Immigration Law casework assistant.
Keanu is a Business Administration Apprentice at Media Plant, a media business based in Swindon who offer a range of services including, authoring, printing, packaging, USB duplication, memory products, video brochures and much more for larger international clients. Keanu’s role includes responsibilities such as preparing quotes for new clients, working on things such as video brochures and helping clients create niche bespoke marketing tools
