An excellent opportunity has arisen within a Yeovil based firm. The company is looking to add to their finance department. You will learn technology skills, accounting skills, general business administration and become conversant with how businesses operate in general and then continue beyond as part of the company growth plans.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the finance team with admin tasks, which require high attention to accuracy and detail. Provide limited support to the IT function on basic IT tasks
  • Carry out entry level tasks, including input and reconciling numbers
  • Ideally grow a general accounts assistant who has carried skills and interest who can cover in a variety of roles as the role has a strong bias to finance
  • Use of systems including PS Financials, Outlook, Excel and Word – (training will be provided)
  • Input of purchase invoices
  • Sales ledger allocations
  • Purchase ledger allocations
  • Filing
  • Processing payments to include set-up of suppliers
  • Coding of Input Purchase orders and check open Purchase orders
  • On hold items – chasing up resolution
  • Expense payments
  • Analysis and reconciliation of accounts
  • Updating website portals
  • Supplier invoice queries (price) / back up information
  • Checking accuracy and completeness of information
  • Attend college/training provider as and when required
  • Complete standard forms to include company
  • Ensure accurate up to date information is available to the Finance department
  • To respond to basic requests for information relating to the Finance service
  • Ad hoc support to other departments (for specific projects) as required
  • Photocopying, scanning, collation of information and general clerical work on behalf of the Finance department or other departments
  • Managing petty cash requests
  • Basic credit control / statement queries
  • Take messages, answer simple queries (subject to training and experience)
  • To maintain a confidential (manual and electronic) filing system

Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) or equivalent including Maths and English Language

40 hours per week
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with 30 minutes lunch unpaid

£5.00 per hour
