A great opportunity to work within the support team of a large GP surgery. This is a varied IT support role and you will learn a variety of skills whilst working towards a professional qualification.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, rectify or report computer network, servers, and UPS, workstations, printers, systems, touchscreen and software problems including the Practice telephone system
  • Setup new users on all software used within the practice or use relevant help desks when necessary
  • Liaise with system supplier help desks and IT support personnel
  • Set and monitor overnight system backups and implement restore procedures
  • Install, test set up and configure a variety of IT equipment
  • Monitor electronic links with Gloucestershire Family Health Services and others as necessary. Identify and rectify all rejections ensuring continuity and accuracy
  • Development and maintenance of the Practice Website and Intranet
  • Support and develop practice social media channels
  • Liaise with the Primary Care Trust on the management, acquisition and disposal of IT equipment
  • Maintenance of technical documentation to support the ServiceDesk
  • To ensure all user requirements are supported to a high and consistent standard on a daily basis and feedback is communicated in a timely and effective manner
  • Carry out ‘ad-hoc’ tasks when requested to assist with the smooth running of the IT Department and provide support for project related work to ensure a high level of support for users

Qualifications required:
GCSE Grades 4 to 9 (A*- C) in Maths and English or equivalent plus 2 other GCSEs 3 to 9 (A* to D) in any other subject

35 hours per week
Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm with 1 hour for lunch

£5.50 per hour
