We attended our first awards ceremony of the year last night….and we had a winner!!
With a thoroughly deserved nomination and shortlisting Leanne was announced as Apprentice of the Year at the South West Business and Community awards ceremony held in Swindon last night!
Huge congratulations Leanne and also to your host employer Sixways in Cheltenham, Leanne has worked exceptionally hard since the start of her apprenticeship nearly 18 months ago, completing the Level 2 Business administration and progressing on to the Level 3 straight away.
This was the second nomination for Leanne as she was also nominated for Apprentice of the Year at the National Apprenticeship Awards, she was shortlisted here as a finalist and attended the Regional awards and was recognised as Highly Commended.
Leanne’s recognition in her apprenticeship is fantastic and we are delighted to share her success as are her host employer, Sixways Clinic had this to say about Leanne in their nomination:
“Leanne is such an important part of the Sixways Clinic Team. From the moment she started with us she has got along with all her colleagues and settled in so well. Leanne was quite shy when she started here with us but her confidence has grown so much and we are all so proud of her and everything that she has achieved. Leanne is now at a level where she is training and helping her colleagues in areas they need improving on which is amazing! She is so kind and patient with them all and they are very receptive to her helping them out. Leanne has had minimal help and support with her level 2 due to be being so pro- active and managing her time so well with her work modules. She has done so well passing all exams and completing modules to a high standard. Leanne has not only won receptionist of the month here at Sixways but she has also won apprentice of the month through SWAC. Everyone at Sixways is so proud of Leanne and all of her achievements and we really feel that her hard work and dedication has paid off and she deserves to be apprentice of the year.”
And most importantly Leanne has this to say about her experience as an apprentice:
“Since starting this apprenticeship I have developed many skills, such as communication skills, computer skills, phone skills, team working skills and confidence. This apprenticeship has given me a lot of confidence and has improved my communication greatly and has motivated me to do the higher-level apprenticeship after. I believe others can learn from my experiences because my progress shows how an apprenticeship can build confidence and how working whilst learning can really benefit a business.”
Again a huge well done Leanne! such a well deserved award and recognition congratulations from all the team here at SWAC. We look forward to seeing how your career progresses from here.
