Duties will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for any external customers or clients
  • Providing technical support in relation to IT and software systems
  • Troubleshooting based on client queries
  • Developing business knowledge and understanding the software used
  • Explaining use of systems to clients and responding to enquiries in a fast and efficient manner.

Candidates will:

  • Be computer literate to a high standard
  • Have a genuine passion for IT and software
  • Be organised and responsive, using initiative and motivation to deal with enquiries
  • Be strong communicators, both internally and externally
  • Be reliable and enthusiastic when approaching all tasks
  • Have work or volunteer experience (desirable)

Qualifications required:

A great opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Medical receptionist to work as an integral member of the Reception Team under the supervision of the Reception Lead, supporting the general practitioners at a brand-new health centre in Cheltenham.

This is an outstanding opportunity to develop administrative, communication & negotiation skills in a busy & challenging environment.

This role will entail a great deal of patient contact, both face to face and by telephone.

The Reception and Administration area are very busy. You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work and think clearly under pressure, with competing distractions. It will not be an easy role, but you will find great satisfaction in offering patients excellent service and will learn invaluable skills as you grow in ability and confidence with support.

As a Medical Receptionist you will play a vitally important role in the quality of the patient’s visit to the Surgery by dealing with their queries or concerns in an efficient and professional manner. The job also requires a high level of confidentiality to be always maintained.

Job Purpose:

  • Greet patients and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner
  • Provide an effective and polite telephone enquiry service
  • Proactively communicate information between relevant patients, clinicians, and professionals

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
General administration duties including:

  • Sending letters as instructed
  • Coding Patient information
  • Scanning and filing documentation
  • Handling incoming post
  • Franking outgoing post

Reception duties including:

  • Greet patients and visitors to the practice and make sure the reception area is kept tidy at all times
  • Make sure patients book themselves in and all visitors are signed in per practice appointments and visitors’ procedures
  • Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly
  • Booking, amending, and cancelling patient appointments
  • Extract patient’s records if requested and prepare any other papers needed for the Consultation or Medicals
  • Issue and supply prescriptions and distribute accordingly (EPS)
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly
  • Administration duties
  • Check daily task and always complete before the end of the shift
  • Ensure the Reception Area is left tidy and ready for use by in-coming colleagues, together with any information regarding unresolved or urgent matters
  • Be prepared to carry out relief duties that may be required at times of sickness, leave or other times of staff shortage in the Practice. All relief work will be paid
  • This job description is not exhaustive and may be adjusted periodically after review and consultation. You will also be expected to carry out any reasonable duties which may be requested from time to time
  • Co-operate in all matters with other members of the Practice Team, with a view to ensuring a happy atmosphere, greater job satisfaction and, above all, ever improving patient care

We have an excellent opportunity for an apprentice to be supported and trained to become an efficient and effective site assistant/caretaker. You will work with the Facilities Manager to ensure that the school’s buildings, site, and furnishings are safe, secure, and maintained to Health and Safety standards and to the expected standards of the Governing Body. You will be supported by your line manager and the wider school team to learn a variety of new skills to help you achieve your qualification.

Main Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, provide caretaking, building repair and maintenance, and cleaning services as required
  • The post holder may be required to monitor skilled contractors as and when appropriate
  • Liaise with a designated officer as appropriate to carry out procedures for emergencies, including repairs
  • Assist in carrying out agreed internal decorations and improvements while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards
  • Assist in liaison with contractors whilst on-site, ensuring that work is completed in line with specifications and to the required standard. Take any appropriate action to resolve problems
  • Report to the Site Supervisor on alterations and repairs to buildings
  • Support the Site Supervisor in the day-to-day operational responsibility for all security activity within the site
  • Routinely monitor the operation of the fire alarm, fire doors, lighting, heating, water testing, plumbing and security systems
  • Detect and report any building defects, advising school management on any Health and Safety issues. Undertake any minor repairs and general maintenance
  • Arrange and/or carry out the movement of furniture and equipment within the site. Assist with general porterage duties, including the distribution of items delivered to the school site
  • Ensure the school grounds remain tidy and the equipment is kept in good order. This may include cleaning external drains and gullies
  • Ensure all allocated equipment and materials are stored safely in order to prevent accidents/misuse. Issue soap, toilet rolls, paper towels and such other items as required by the school
  • Be aware of Health and Safety issues around the site and work in accordance with safe practice and Health and Safety legislation
  • To become qualified as a First Aider and to carry out first aid duties as required
  • Respect any and all confidential information

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience and knowledge of buildings and associated trades is desired
  • The post holder must possess approved certificates in the use of specialist machinery. Training will be given to achieve certification for use of required specialist machinery if required
  • Manual Handling training, Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) certificates and, if required, a Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) qualification. Training can be provided

Creativity and Innovation:

  • Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, identify and respond to any problems arising from faults in or breakdown of machinery, equipment or facilities
  • The post holder may be required to respond to incidents occurring both inside and outside of school hours, including the possibility of needing to respond to an alarm call
  • Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, assist in implementing or making appropriate arrangements for repairs to be carried out as authorised by the school and in line with agreed policies and procedures

Contacts and Relationships:

  • Maintain regular contact with the Site Supervisor to report on-site issues
  • The post holder may have contact with other staff members, regarding issues related to site maintenance
  • Assist the Site Supervisor in making contact with contractors and liaising with contractors when on-site to ensure pupil safety, that Health and Safety procedures are adhered to, and that contractors are made aware of relevant school procedures

Decisions:

  • The post holder will be responsible for dealing with routine issues that may arise from contractors.
    • Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, the post holder will follow recognised procedures to ensure the most appropriate maintenance of the school site
  • Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the post holder has shared responsibility for ensuring the safety of the school site for all users and its adherence to Health and Safety procedures

Resources:

  • The post holder may be responsible for ensuring that any breakdowns of equipment are reported to the Facilities Manager
  • Training and personal and protective equipment will be provided

Work Environment:

  • The post requires frequent physical effort, including walking around the site, lifting and carrying, occasional climbing of ladders within the school and handling equipment in workshop environments
  • Handling and moving deliveries and porterage of furniture and equipment may be required
  • The post will require some outdoor work in adverse weather conditions, including ensuring safe access to school buildings when snow, heavy rain or ice problems occur

GCSE grades 4 to 9 (A* to C) or equivalent in English Language, Mathematics and IT/Digital Technology

37 hours per week
Monday to Friday

Shifts
7am to 3.30pm or 2pm to 10.30pm with 1 hour for lunch however, the shift system will mean one Saturday in four you will be required to work which is paid as overtime (time and a half)

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to work within the support team at ‘The Ashley Down Centre, Independent Living’, supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities who are attending college study programmes. You will promote a positive experience and support young people to develop their social communication, independence and employability skills as they prepare for adult life.

During this apprenticeship you will be learning how to become an effective Care and Support Worker and you will be supported by your Line Manager and the wider team to learn a variety of new skills to help you achieve your qualification.

Main Duties:

  • Work as part of a team to provide opportunities for college students to develop independent living skills such as preparing healthy meals, maintaining a high level of personal care and hygiene, staying safe, managing budgets and shopping
  • Provide a supportive and caring environment for young people who are learning the skills needed to live more independently, and promote their social and emotional wellbeing
  • Maintain a stable and positive environment for learners at all times
  • Ensure learners have access to support when needed
  • Provide opportunities for learners to develop social and communication skills. This will include working on projects with other students, visiting friends and family, participating in social activities at the house and within the community
  • Support the learners to travel independently for college, work placements and social purposes and to take travel arrangements into consideration when planning their schedule
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times, maintaining accurate records and following Safeguarding procedures
  • To plan, organise and support high quality leisure activities under the direction of your line management
  • Contribute to the recording of student progress and achievement and identify areas for development
  • Liaise with all staff, parents and professionals to ensure the learner’s individual needs are met at the residential facility, college and the workplace
  • Participate fully in regular team meetings to update learner’s personalised programmes including risk assessment, behaviour management planning and case reviews
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to equality to develop a community which celebrates and values diversity
  • To establish and maintain a high level of customer service for residents, students, parents and other appropriate individuals/group

An opportunity has arisen for a varied and diverse role within a doctor’s surgery in Moreton in Marsh Gloucestershire.

The role is to work within the Practice’s Reception Team. You will be speaking with patients, booking appointments and assisting with various admin tasks.

At all times you will ensure that high standards of communication with patients and their carers is undertaken in a confidential, courteous and helpful manner.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use of the practice record keeping system to ensure accuracy in recording and capturing relevant patient information
  • Greeting patients and arranging patient appointments
  • Answering telephones and relaying messages accurately where appropriate
  • Handling and responding to emails and forms submitted via the website portal
  • Communication with third parties as required
  • Preparation of administrative forms for patients and return of these forms to the correct person in practice
  • Adhering to the opening and closing procedures of the surgery
  • Checking tidiness of the general practice area after surgeries, am and pm
