Apprentice of the month is…
Jamie Scott
We are delighted to announce Jamie as SWAC’s January Apprentice of the Month.
Jamie is hosted by Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School in Southport, Merseyside. He is currently studying towards a Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship which is delivered by FIT UK Training.
Jamie is mainly based within the Year 3 class, where he sits with a table group to support them, helping to keep them engaged with the lesson and helps them generate ideas. He provides gentle guidance to help them stay focused and models tasks for them.
Jamie also works 1 to 1 with a Year 5 pupil who struggles with coming into school. To help regulate his emotions, Jamie takes him out for a five minute game of football, after these sessions, the pupil is usually much more settled and ready to get on with his day. Jamie also checks in on him later to make sure he’s still doing well.
Jamie has built many positive relationships across the school, and the school staff are always happy to support him.
Jamie has impressed everyone at the school, the school’s Deputy Headmaster, Mr Gallagher had this to say “Jamie is an incredible asset to our school, he is an excellent member of staff who is a professional team player who has brilliant relationships with the children, staff and parents. He is conscientious and caring in his work and shows great enthusiasm towards PE and leads sessions to a high standard, making a difference for the children. He is fully immersed in school life contributing to after school provision and other events (e.g. Discos) out of school hours”
His Assessor also had nothing but praise for Jamie “Jamie is progressing well with his training. He communicates very well with me and is always proactive in raising any issues or queries”
Congratulations Jamie, keep up the good work and continue making a difference🌟
