🌟 September Apprentice of the Month: George Chant
We are delighted to announce George as SWAC’s September Apprentice of the Month.
George is hosted by Xylem Water Solutions Ltd in Axminster, Devon. George is studying towards a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician level 3 apprenticeship. His training is being delivered by Exeter College.
George began his Apprenticeship in 2024 and is working towards his EPA and will be progressing onto his level 4 apprenticeship on completion.
George was awarded apprentice of the year at Exeter College earlier this year and everyone at Xylem and SWAC is incredibly proud of George’s achievements.
George’s Line Manager, Simon said “”George’s Apprentice of the Month award is thoroughly deserved, during his time in our Production Department, he has demonstrated a fantastic attitude towards learning, consistently showing commitment, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. He has embraced new responsibilities, worked well with colleagues across the team, and made excellent progress throughout his apprenticeship. George is a valued member of the business, and we are proud of his achievements to date. We look forward to seeing his continued development and success in the future.”

“George has always been a nice, pleasant and respectful lad since the day he started here with us. George will always perform to the best of his abilities; he is very methodical and retains information very well. He never shy’s away from a difficult task.
As mentioned above, He has a good attitude in general, Nice, pleasant, respectful, good manners and keeps his head down. George is always keen to be involved in new projects and is very knowledgeable about what he does. He is a quiet lad but will engage in a professional way with anybody when required.
George has made great progress in learning new products and problem solving when a product has a fault. We will continue to give him new products and new responsibilities to help with his progression.
George has successfully completed and passed lots of online training, and also currently holds 3 forklift licenses. He is also a member of our fire marshal team in the Axminster factory where he is on a rota at least once a month to test the fire alarm with a fellow colleague and check that every department works without any failures.”
