Apprentice of the month is…

🌟 June Apprentice of the Month: Caitlyn Burrell

We are delighted to announce Caitlyn as SWAC’s June Apprentice of the Month.

Caitlyn is hosted by St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School in Liverpool. Caitlyn is training to be a Teaching Assistant at Key stage 2. Her training is being delivered by Realise Training.

Caitlyn helps prepare resources for the day and prepares her 1-2-1 phonics work with children and helps with the daily reading. She provides 1-2-1 support in most lessons and will make sure everyone’s on task. She performs interventions in the afternoon then helps the children get ready to go home and tidies up.

There are 3 children at the moment that she is helping to reach their reading goals, she does FFT’s and checks their reading levels etc, she also does this for children with maths which is a Dynamo intervention, she’s led groups based on their ability and worked with children below and on target.

The school had this to say about Caitlyn “Caitlyn has gone from strength to strength since moving into Year 6 and has become an invaluable member of the team. She consistently demonstrates initiative and confidence in her role, successfully leading interventions and phonics sessions with growing independence and effectiveness. Over the year, she has truly found her voice, contributing ideas and taking on responsibilities with enthusiasm and professionalism.

One of Caitlyn’s greatest strengths is her nurturing and caring nature. She shows genuine kindness and compassion towards every child, taking the time to build positive relationships and ensure that pupils feel valued, supported, and encouraged. Her warm and approachable manner helps children to develop confidence and feel secure in their learning environment. She is always willing to offer reassurance, celebrate successes, and provide encouragement when challenges arise. Caitlyn’s patience, empathy, and understanding make a significant difference to the children she works with and contributes greatly to their wellbeing and progress.

Caitlyn is also a supportive and thoughtful colleague who is always willing to help others. Her dedication, positive attitude, and commitment to the pupils and wider school community make her a highly valued and respected member of the team”.

Congratulations Caitlyn – A good education can change anyone. A good Teaching Assistant can change everything!🌟
